NATIONWIDE PROTEST TO REFER HINDRAF DETAINEE P.UTHAYAKUMAR TO IJN.

The peaceful protest to refer P.Uthayakumar to IJN nationwide went on as scheduled. I was there at KLCC main entrance at about 10.00 am Sunday 11/5/2008.

A few hundred policeman were stationed as early as 9.00 am, I was told by the public. As the event supposed to start at 11.00 am I moved on to another location to cover another occasion.

About 10.30 am a number of protesters got ready from within the complex of KLCC, YB Siva Rasa was at the scene at about 10.40 am, YB Manicka could not make it due to some urgent matters. The crowd slowly swell to about 300 members with play cards and slogans, some shouted slogans MAKKAL SAKTHI & HINDRAF and call to immediately sent Uthaya to IJN and also call for their immediate release from ISA. Local and international media was around covering the event which went on smooth as the police was watchful without any drastic action. Troops of Rela members were stationed all around KLCC. Later YB Siva Rasa gave press conference and the police to gave theirs claiming this as an illegal gathering and call for immediate disperse. By 12.30 pm the crowd dispersed peacefully.

I was there until 1.30 pm and I saw some poor guys who wanted to join the protest made it late and were roaming around KLCC asking where the protest is taking place, one guy, Raja from Puchong asked me for the direction to British High Commission and when I asked why, he said he wanted to attend the protest but he don't see any crowd and claim he got info that the protest was adjourned to the front of British High Commission to avert police.

By 1.30 pm the police moved out leaving a few traffic cops to maintain traffic.

Please join the people force this Sunday 11-5-08 at various spots of the nation in demanding the Home Minister and Health Minister to immediately refer Hindraf Leader P.Uthayakumar to IJN for further medical treatment.

P.Uthayakumar whom have diagnose of mild heart heart during the detention in Kamunting was request for further medical treatment in IJN by his family and supporters since last month.

Memo and appeals were sent to PM Office and Home Minister regarding this by his family members but there was no response from both the office about this.

His condition has become even worse, acknowledge by his family member in the recent visit last weekend.
He went thru ECO test last Monday in Taiping GH and was told to refer to IJN for further test but later his was taken back to Kamunting and till today his was not refer to IJN !!
We have to show BIG protest to this ignorance government and HOME Minister whom 'playing' with P.Uthayakumar life intentionally. P.Uthayakumar and other Hindraf leader have sacrificed much for the betterment of Malaysian Indians, let us show our gratitude to them.
