Indians Must Vote Wisely In This General Election

Dear Malaysians of Indian Origin,

Whether you like it or not, you have to make a very important decision on 8th March 2008. This will be an important date in Malaysian history if all of us make a rational and proper decision on the ballot paper.

It is for the first time in Malaysian history that the Indians are so united.

It didn't happen overnight, but the result of a continuous and long struggle of our great hero, a true hero, Mr. Uthayakumar, for more than 15 years.

It took him so long to unite our community to stand for our rights.

We should mark 25th November 2007 as the unity day for the Malaysians of Indian origin.

Now, we can proudly tell the world that the Malaysians of Indian origin are very united.

It is very important for us to channel this unity towards a proper direction.

Our rights! Yes! We should fight for our rights without fear and favour.

We can't and should not always go to the street to ask for our rights, we have to make the ruling government realize and understand that Malaysians of Indian origin are the citizens of this country and we too have the equal rights as others.

How to make the government realize this?

THE ANSWER IS : GENERAL ELECTION 2008

That is why I mentioned 8th March 2008 is an important date for us.

We must make a drastic CHANGE in this election. We should set our target clear. Our aim should be this:

1. Change the ruling government or at least deny the 2/3 majorities.

2. More Indian representative in Parliament and States.

As I have said, we must be very clear on these two objectives. Let's be rational, don't let emotion or sentiment control us.

Past election results shows that the majority of the winning votes in many constituencies are less than 5%, and Indian voters are more than 10% in almost 70 over parliamentary seats.

It will be even a lot more seats if we count on 5% or more Indian voters.

This clearly tell us that we are the king makers in all these constituencies.

We can definitely make a big change in this election; at least we are able to deny the 2/3 majority for the ruling government.

We should prove to the ruling government that the minority is able to make a huge CHANGE.

As we know very well, all the while Indians are the loyal voters for the ruling Barisan National coalition but do they ever think of the welfare of our community?

Did ever the UMNO led Barisan National get the same mandate from other communities?

Check all the constituencies that have more than 70% of other communities, i.e. Kelantan, Terengganu, Kedah, Penang, Perak, Selangor and etc.

What's the mandate the UMNO led Barisan National coalition gets from these smart voters?

We are blindly fooled by the sweet talk of the Barisan National coalitions.

Did Gerakan, claiming to be the multiracial party in Barisan National, allocate any seats for Indian?

Why not, when PPP was able to offer seats for other communities?

It shows that the Barisan Nasional coalitions have never respected the Indians.

This is the time for CHANGE, we must take a strong determination to make sure that the UMNO lead Barisan National loses the General Election or at least denied their 2/3rd majority.

Enough is enough, 50years of suffering is enough.

There is no doctrine that says that the Indians must be loyal to Barisan National.

Don't fall for their May' 13 bullshit.

Things have changed; the Malaysians are very rational nowadays.

In 1969, the oppositions was mainly Chinese but now there are Indians, Chinese and Malays too, in opposition.

Most of all, the majority of Malays are not happy with the corrupted Barisan National government.

Only the cronies and UMNO Putras are the ones benefiting from this corrupted government.

Secondly, we must make sure there are more seats to be won by the Indians.

We need more Indians in parliament, we need a check and balance of Indian representation to listen and facilitate Indians needs for the future.

There are 21 Parliamentary and 42 State seats which are contested by the Indians.

If we make sure they win all the seats, than the number of Indian representatives in Parliament and States will increase a lot.

This will be the first time in the history of Malaysia to see that many Indians in parliament and states.

Of course there is strong dissatisfaction among the Indians towards MIC.

MIC is one political party run by a selfish Indians claiming to foght the rihts of the Indians but instead, looting Indians rights, we need to topple the president first.

We should make sure he loses in Sungai Siput.

If he still wins, we want to see him MIC's only MP in Parliament, so that the other Indian MP's can grill him about his money making ventures via MIC and MAIKA.

As I mentioned few times earlier, we should be more rational this time and be not led by emotion.

We won't know what the election result will be, it's better to prepare some backup before anything bad can happen.

Barisan Nasional is not easy to be defeated.

If we can't defeat BN at least deny their 2/3 majorities.

Therefore, we must have a check and balance of Indian representation to listen and facilitate Indians need for the future.

We must make sure more right-minded and capable Indians represent us in parliament.

We should learn from the other communities, they always have both opposition and ruling parties in parliament and states to fight for their rights.

No matter what vote only Barisan Rakyat candidates.

This will make sure there are enough Indians in the parliament.

This is not to create racial sentiment but in the Malaysian scenario it is a must since most of the time the candidates are only fighting for their own people.

Let the CHANGE in this election wipe out the deep rooted racial based politics in our country.

This will help us to vote without racial sentiment in the 13th General Election.

CHANGE is in your hands.

Malaysians of Indian origins have to take risk, don't fear of losing.

We have had 50 years of bad experience, being marginalized by whom we trusted.

Now, we have to wake up! Be rational! Stop talking! Walk the talk! Enough is enough! Take drastic action! Vote out the racist (Barisan National) who have never bothered about us.

Vote in more Indians as MPs to represent us.

Let's be courageous, let's just not talk but have the courage to make a difference and bring about the changes we desire.

HINDRAF has walked the first step for us.

Let's take the next step courageously.

All changes involves risk, without risk, there is no progress, so let's take a risk and vote for the opposition.

Do not be afraid of whether there is any body capable of ruling the country from the opposition.

If you understand what democracy is all about, it doesn't matter much who rules.

The structure and system of government which we have is solid enough to compensate the outcome.

American Presidents come and go but America's economy is still the same.

The Thai's just had a coup de tat but their economy is still stronger than ours.

Japan has changed PM many times but they are still the world's second biggest economy.

Let's be bold, have the courage to bring about a change that we desire.

Think positive and move on to the next step.

Vote wisely for any opposition party and Indian candidates.
